Kwara SWAN commends Barrister AU Mustapha on re-grassing of Kwara State Stadium


 

Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) hailed the President of Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Committee, Barrister Abdulhakeem Mustapha for embarking on the re-grassing of Kwara State Stadium.


In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary Kwara SWAN, Ayodeji Ismail and Dare Kuti said the re-grassing will put Kwara State on the map of African Football, expressing optimism that football activities will resume before 2023 runs out.


Kwara SWAN noted that the ongoing re-grassing when completed will afford the state the opportunity to host CAF matches and International matches including Super Eagles.


 "Kwara SWAN wants to commend Barrister AU Mustapha for the re-grassing of Kwara State Stadium. According to experts, the synthetic pitch of Kwara State had expired since 2015 and the President of CAF Appeal committee deemed it fit to embark on the process, the statement says


"We want to appreciate Barrister AU Mustapha for giving back to the society through this process. It is the desire of the good people of Kwara State that we host CAF matches, the Super Eagles of Nigeria as well as other national age grade teams in the state. Kwara SWAN believes the state will attract sponsors when completed.


"Barrister AU Mustapha is a blessing not only to Kwara State but Nigeria and Africa as a whole. He has contributed to the development of football in Kwara State and Nigeria; it is our belief that his continuous presence in the football family will bring more futures to Kwara State", Kwara SWAN said.


Kwara SWAN rejoiced with Barrister AU Mustapha at his birthday celebration on February 28th, wishing him success in his endeavours.
