EDA Holiday Coaching: Usman Jagunma Urges Students To Engage In Vocational Training While In School
Students of Secondary Schools in Ilorin Emirate have been charged to engage in vocational and skill acquisition program while in school to reduce over dependence on unavailable"white Kolar job".
The National Publicity Secretary of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, IEYDA Alhaji Usman Jagunma gave the charge on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Edun Development Association Holiday Coaching Programme.
Alhaji Jagunma who Commended EDA for always being in the fore front in organizing meaningful programmes for it's Community, said contemporary western education is not enough to solve numerous challenges of unemployment in the society, hence the need for students and youths to combine both to enhance job availability.
Jagunma also encouraged students to harness the potentials of KWASU's School of Vocational training after their secondary education to improve wealth creation.
Alhaji Jagunma who later gifted best students of Junior Secondary School category with handsome prizes on behalf of IEYDA, appreciated donors and sponsors of EDA Holiday Coaching exercise for their unwavering support, asking them to sustain the tempo.
Earlier, Chairman Education Committee of EDA, Mallam Moshood Babatude Edun praised all volunteer teachers for their dedication through the period of the exercise, noting that their resilience had made it possible for the association for a hitch free Programme.
He thanked Alhaji Tunji Nagode, Alhaji Bolaji Nagode, Engr Badmus Yusuf, Engr Lukuman Adebayo and Alhaji Abubakar Jimoh Edun for their huge financial support, praying Allah to replenishing their pockets.
