IEYDA 2023 Youth Summit: Yusuf Adepoju Advocates Robust Security to Guarantee food Sufficiency

The Chief Lecturer, Academy of Islamic Propagation of Nigeria, ACADIP, Mallam Yusuf Adepoju has called on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the scourge of kidnapping and banditry in the Country to guarantee food security.
Adepoju made the call at the weekend in Ilorin, the kwara state capital at the 3rd Youth Summit of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association in conjunction with Arewa Pot while presenting a paper titled “challenges of food scarcity and the way forward”.
The Islamic Scholar who advocated improve and adequate security within the country, noted that local farmers encountered security threats in the hands of kidnappers and banditry while engaging in farming and other agricultural activities.
The founder of ACADIP also called on the management of various Universities across the country to use part of their lands for all year round farming to stem the ugly trend of food insufficiency, imploring Government at all levels to leverage on technology to develop artificial rain during dry season for all farming to curb food shortage in the country.
He charged Nigerian legislators to be alive to their responsibilities by enacting and implementing impactful laws that would be beneficial to all and sundry.
The 2023 IEYDA summit also featured presentation of palliative such as rice , yam, spaghetti and indomie to the less privileged in the emirate to cushion the effects of subsidy removal in the country.
