KWARTMA, Sports Commission Partner On Traffic Management

Engr. Michael Bamidele, acting Chief executive officer, Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority, KWARTMA, has called on road users to be law abiding in Kwara, especially in Ilorin, saying that traffic officers will no longer condone lawlessness on the highway.

Engnr Bamidele made call at the office of the executive chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, KSC, on Tuesday while on a courtesy visit.

"Traffic law infraction is becoming worrisome because our people tend to still believe in the old ways of doing things.

"This has to stop if we must have an effective traffic system in Kwara," he said.

The KWARTMA boss said that he is at the stadium office to see Coach Bola Mogaji, executive chairman, KSC.

"We believe in recruiting stakeholders like you into our project of bringing sanity to Kwara roads," he said.

Speaking on the same matter, Coach Mogaji said that unmanageable traffic hamper effectiveness of facilities like the stadium.

"We have a notorious case just outside the stadium game where you see cars, bikes and tricycle mount road  kerbs just to avoid making the necessary detour.

"The only way we can stop this is that traffic officers must be firm in enforcing discipline.

The CEO of KWARTMA was at the stadium to Co-opt Coach Magaji as Marshall for the traffic management agency.
