Sheikh Ahmad Labeeb Agbaji: A worthy Ambassador of Ilorin Emirate

 

Ilorin is known for the home of prominent Islamic scholars, their Sermons, Dawah and struggles towards the emancipation of Islam in the south west and other regions of the country have been source of inspiration and direction to the present and upcoming generations.

Ilorin is not only blessed with versatile and knowledgeable scholars but also endowed with good oratory and effective methodology in the delivery of their sermons to the administration of their followers and disciples.

In recent times, the advent of social media and Internet facility has aided many scholars of diverse religions in propagating their religion to their respective followers and admirers with the aim of winning souls for the Almighty. Though, some of them are misusing the opportunity created by online to malign people through unfounded lies, false allegations and misrepresentations of facts and figures which have become order of the day.

However, Sheikh Ahmad Labeeb Agbaji is one of the finest scholars on social media who is exploring the positive vibes on the  platform to change the narrative and methodology of Dawah and propagation of Islam, his recent exploits and contributions in the reopening of "Inisa central jummat Mosque in Osun state which was shutdown for few years due to the crisis in the appointment of an Imam" was a glorious and appreciable effort, welcome by concerned Muslim Ummah. His lone effort in the Inisa Central Mosque debacle has further confirmed Hulamas (clerics) from Ilorin as an ambassadors of peace and harmony.

As if that was not enough, Sheikh Labeeb aka Ijoba 1 was on Thursday, 29th of February, surprised many of his admirers as he took Dawah to the major markets in Ilorin metropolis on the directive of the Emir, Maimaritaba, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR to preach against the incessant hording of goods, particularly food stuffs where marketers were alleged to have  deliberately increases prices of food uncontrollably, he preached the word of Allah through waka to them and warned that they should desist from the act forthwith to avoid the wrath of Almighty.

Ever since the removal of fuel subsidy by the present administration of President Bola Tinubu, the country and citizens at large have been facing hardship owing to the perpetual economy crisis and inflation, while many business owners are taking the advantage of the rising inflation to inflict hardship on the people through uncontrol price of selling goods, Shelkh Labeeb has again demonstrated commitment to end the scourge by openly preached against it in the markets and to serve as a warning to the so called perpetrators from continuing in the dastardly act.

Now that Ramadan is approaching, I hope those marketers had  carefully listened to the sermon and will heed to the warning from Ijoba 1 with the hope of completely desisting  from the artificial scarcity of food stuffs, I also believe that other social media addicted scholars will lend their voices to this pathetic situation, even if they can go to the markets as demonstrated by Sheikh Labeeb, they will use their various social media platforms to preach and sensitize the public and even their followers on the need to trade in Halal to attract Allah's mercy .

Sheikh Labeeb will continue to attract more lovers and admirers with his modern techniques of practicalizing Dawah both on and off the social media, I only pray and beseech Allah to grant him sound health and long life for him continue to further achieve for humility through his lectures and sermons.
