KWSG Praises YUCATECO Boxing Promotion for Promoting Grassroots Sports



The Kwara State Government has heaped praises on the organisers of the 2024 Yucateco boxing trials for promoting the game of boxing from the grassroots.


The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji gave the commendation on Sunday while speaking with sports writers at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin, venue of the trials exercise .


The Sports Commission Chairman, who revealed that Kwara State is home of boxing, having produced former world champions in the past.


Mogaji also appreciated the Senator representing Kwara Central, Senator Saliu Mustapha for supporting the trials, as he called on other stakeholders to invest in the game of boxing to rid the society out of societal vices.


He as well hailed the Yucateco Promotion, Kwara State Boxing Association and various boxing clubs in the state, as well as Peteru Sports for bringing the boxing trials to the state of Harmony.


Earlier, the Director of Sports Mallam Bako Ibrahim, described the boxing trials as an opportunity for the upcoming boxers at the grassroots to expose themselves.

Emir of Ilorin to Turban Mohammed Baba Iliyas as Daudu Egbejila July 25 Preparations are in top gear for the grand turbaning ceremony of Alhaji Mualim Mohammed Baba Iliyas as the 3rd Daudu Egbejila Wara Osin in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
