We Are To Expand TB Stadium To 35,000 Capacity Through PPP Arrangements.. Gamawa
Mallam Salihu Gamawa, Bauchi State's Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, has revealed that the state government is committed to expanding the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium to a 35,000-seat capacity through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with foreign partners.
Speaking at the Stephen Keshi Stadium media center on Monday, Gamawa emphasized that the PPP arrangement aims to enhance both sports and infrastructural development in the state.
He also highlighted the government's efforts in ensuring adequate funding for the state's participation in the 8th National Youth Games (NYG24) in Asaba, which included timely payments to motivate athletes to achieve top performances.
Gamawa pointed out that Bauchi recently held its first state sports festival in 43 years, made possible by the governor's dedication and prompt release of funds, which served as preparation for the youth games.
Gamawa expressed satisfaction with the organization of this year's NYG, stating that it successfully met its goal of nurturing future athletes.
