Jubilation As Kwara United Secures 1st Away Win Against Nasarawa in Lafia

Kwara United fans are celebrating as the team secured its first away win of the season in a dramatic NPFL Matchday 11 clash against Nasarawa United at Lafia City Stadium.

Emmanuel Ogbole’s powerful shot from outside the box just before halftime gave the Harmony Boys a much-needed 1-0 victory over the Solid Miners.

The match was crucial for Kwara United, who entered the game in the drop zone. Ogbole had earlier appealed for a penalty in the 27th minute after being brought down in the box, but the referee let play continue. Shola AbdulRaheem's header in the 38th minute nearly doubled the lead, but it was expertly saved by Nasarawa’s goalkeeper, keeping the score at 1-0 going into halftime.

The second half saw Kwara United on the defensive, especially after Victor Adeoye received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 70th minute. Despite being down to 10 men, Kwara United held their ground, with goalkeeper Nurudeen Badmus making crucial double saves in the 75th minute to maintain the lead.

Defenders Ibrahim Yahaya and Kabir Mohammed thwarted Nasarawa United’s attempts to equalize, ensuring the game ended in favor of Kwara United.

Coach Tunde Sanni praised his team’s resilience and vowed to keep building on this momentum.

" This is a compensation from God, we are due to have won many away games, you can see we lost many scoring chances as well, but we thank God for the victory, Sanni remarks"

Kwara United will now prepare to face Plateau United at home for Matchday 12, hoping to capitalize on their recent success.
