Kwara United Affirms Full Government Funding, Clarifies Marketing Committee's Role
The Management of Kwara United Football Club has reaffirmed that the Kwara State Government, under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, remains the sole financier of the club.
This clarification was made by the Club Chairman, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, in response to concerns raised over the recently inaugurated Marketing Committee. He emphasized that the committee’s sole responsibility is to explore marketing strategies for the sale of the club’s replica jerseys and not to conduct any fundraising for the club.
Speaking through the General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, Titiloye addressed the criticism surrounding the committee’s formation:
> "We are not doing fundraising for the club; we are only improving our marketing strategies to promote and sell our replica jerseys to groups and individuals, which will help enhance our revenue base."
The club also expressed deep appreciation to the Kwara State Government and the Sports Commission for their unwavering support, assuring that their investments in the club would be justified through strong performances.
It will be recalled that on Monday, former Director of Sports, Coach Tunde Kazeem, was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Marketing Committee to spearhead the club’s replica jersey sales campaign.
