Ramadan and Quran Are Inseparable for a Meaningful Fast – Sheikh Isalekoto

Renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Lukman Muktar Isalekoto, has emphasized the inseparable connection between Ramadan and the Quran, urging Muslims to align their daily routines with the teachings of Islam during the holy month.

Speaking during the Radio Kwara Pre-Ramadan Lecture for 1446, Sheikh Isalekoto encouraged Muslims to fast with sincerity and fear of Allah, while avoiding social ills and vices that could invalidate their fast.

He highlighted Ramadan as a unique opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation and self-discipline.

The cleric also stressed the importance of competence and professionalism in the presentation of Ramadan sermons on radio, urging presenters to adhere strictly to broadcasting rules and regulations.

He recommended that corrections and sanctions be applied to any erring presenters to serve as a deterrent.

Sheikh Isalekoto advocated for effective parenting, emphasizing the need for proper upbringing to curb the increasing moral decline observed in society today.

Earlier, the General Manager of Radio Kwara, Alhaji Kayode Aremu, stated that the pre-Ramadan lecture was organized to educate presenters on the ethics and guidelines for Ramadan programs on radio.

He assured that the initiative would be sustained to ensure quality religioush programming.

The event was attended by representatives of Justice S.O. Mohammed, Alhaji Ajasa, staff, and freelance presenters of the corporation.
