Sheikh Tajudeen Omolehin Urges Sincerity in Charity as Ramadan Nears Night of Majesty
As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches its most sacred nights, renowned Ilorin-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Tajudeen Omolehin Al-Adabiy, has called on Muslims to ensure their charity and generosity are rooted in sincerity of purpose to earn Allah’s blessings.
Speaking on Tuesday during the Radio Kwara Annual Tafsir at its Jummat Mosque, Sheikh Omolehin emphasized that charity should not be done for accolades or public recognition, as such actions contradict the true essence of giving in Islam.
"Some people embark on charity based on sentiment or with the intention of receiving applause, which negates Allah’s commandments on charity," he stated.
Sheikh Omolehin urged Muslims to give charity to those who genuinely need it rather than based on favoritism, Seek only Allah’s reward, rather than human praise, when engaging in acts of kindness.
He added that Utilizing the last 10 days of Ramadan for deep prayers as the nights offer a unique opportunity for destiny to change.
He further encouraged prayers for Nigeria, stressing that the Night of Majesty (Laylatul Qadr) is a time when Allah’s mercy and blessings are abundant.
