Wasiu Alalade Eyes Federation Cup Glory After Heroics in Enugu

In-form Kwara United forward, Wasiu Alalade, has expressed delight over his club’s historic qualification for the semi-final of the President Federation Cup, following their dramatic comeback victory against Akwa United on Saturday in Enugu.

Alalade, who scored both goals to help the Harmony Boys rally from two goals down in the quarter-final clash at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, described the achievement as a major step toward ending the club’s long wait for a national title.

“Our focus now is to go all the way and win the cup. We want to break the jinx and bring silverware to this great club,” said the striker, visibly thrilled after the match.

He commended his teammates and the technical crew for their tenacity, determination, and commitment, which he said were key to their hard-fought victory.

He also acknowledged the unwavering support of the fans, describing it as the driving force behind the team’s spirited performances.

“The encouragement we receive from our supporters gives us the push to keep fighting. We owe this progress to them as well,” Alalade added.

Kwara United will face Rangers International in the semi-final, with the date and venue to be announced in due course.
