 Dan Amanan Overwhelmed by Edun Community’s Colourful Reception of Emir



The Dan Amanan Gari of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Dr. Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the sons and daughters of Edun Community and its environs for their overwhelming show of solidarity and loyalty to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, during the Eid-ul-Adha festivities.


The show of appreciation occurred on Friday when the Emir made a stopover at Itakure on his way home from the Eid prayer. The community, irrespective of status or background, turned out in large numbers in a colourful and culturally rich display to express gratitude to the Emir for conferring the historic title of first-ever Dan Amanan Gari on Dr. Tunji Nagode.


Dr. Nagode, visibly touched by the warm reception, described the gesture as overwhelming and commended the community for their unity, cultural pride, and unwavering support. He also thanked the Emir for the honour bestowed on him, praying for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the Ilorin Emirate.


In his response, the Emir of Ilorin expressed delight at the turnout and solidarity from the Edun Community. He offered prayers for Allah’s continued blessings upon the people and wished everyone many more Eid celebrations in good health and prosperity.


Dr. Tunji Nagode reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Sheikh Alimi dynasty and extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the entire Ilorin Emirate and beyond, praying for enduring unity and sustainable development across the region.
