ZLP’s Usman Tsaragi Pays Tribute to Former Kwara Governor C.O. Adebayo
The Vice Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for North Central, Alhaji Usman Danjuma Tsaragi, has joined millions of sympathisers in mourning the passing of former Kwara State Governor, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, who died at the age of 84.
Chief Adebayo, who served as Governor during the Second Republic in 1983, was confirmed dead by his family after a brief illness.
In a condolence message issued on Wednesday, Alhaji Tsaragi described the late statesman as a trailblazing democrat and visionary leader, whose contributions laid the foundation for the return of democratic governance in Nigeria.
“We have lost another gem in our dear state. Chief C.O. Adebayo will be remembered for his relentless pursuit of progress and his efforts to move Kwara State forward. He was one of the pioneer leaders who agitated for a democratic Nigeria—an effort that bore fruit in 1999,” Tsaragi said.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased's soul and extended his heartfelt condolences to the Adebayo family and the people of Kwara State.
“May God grant him eternal rest and comfort the family he left behind. His indelible mark and legacy will continue to attract applause and commendation for generations to come,” he concluded.
