“Go Win It!” – Mogaji Backs Bolaji for British Para Badminton Crown

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji, has congratulated Nigeria’s para badminton sensation, Eniola Mariam Bolaji, on reaching the final of the prestigious 2025 British & Irish Para Badminton International in Cardiff, Wales.

Eniola, a Paralympic bronze medalist and a dominant force in the women’s SL3 category, produced a masterclass performance in Thursday’s semifinal, defeating Australia’s Celine Vinot 21-4, 21-8 in straight sets. The emphatic win sets up a highly anticipated final clash against the current world number one, Syakuroh Qonitah of Indonesia.

In a statement released on Thursday, Mallam Mogaji praised the Ilorin-born athlete for her resilience, global excellence, and consistency, describing her as “a true ambassador of Kwara State and a shining symbol of what hard work and belief can achieve.”

“We are extremely proud of Eniola Mariam Bolaji. Her journey is an inspiration to every young athlete in Kwara and across Nigeria. On behalf of the entire sports community and the government of Kwara State, we congratulate her on reaching the final and wish her all the best. We believe she can go all the way and win it,” Mogaji stated.

The 2025 season has seen Eniola in blistering form, claiming titles at the Spanish Para Badminton International I & II, the Egypt International, and most recently, the Abia Para Badminton Championship. Her run in Cardiff marks her fourth finals appearance this year.

Born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara State, Eniola has consistently raised the profile of Nigerian para sports on the global stage, earning praise not only for her victories but for breaking barriers and redefining excellence in para badminton.

As the final approaches, there is a wave of hope and pride sweeping through Kwara and across Nigeria, as fans anticipate yet another golden moment from their champion—this time, on British soil.
