No fewer than 12 states from across Nigeria will converge in Ilorin for the 3rd edition of the Monimak Senior Softball Championship, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, 16th July to Saturday, 19th July, 2025.
The championship is organized by Monimak Global Softball in collaboration with the Kwara State Baseball and Softball Association, under the auspices of the Kwara State Sports Commission and supported by Nigeria Baseball and Softball Federation. All matches will take place at the Adewole Baseball Park, Ilorin, starting daily from 10:00 am.
According to Mrs. Monisola Yemisi Mokanjuola, the lead organizer, the tournament is designed as a preparatory platform for women softball players ahead of the national championship scheduled for later this year.
> “We are bringing no fewer than 12 states to Ilorin for this event. The goal is to assess the readiness of our women players and identify areas of improvement and consolidation as they gear up for the national championship,” she stated.
The opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, 17th July, and will be officially declared open by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji. The closing ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 19th July.
The tournament is expected to further boost women’s participation in softball, enhance inter-state cooperation in sports, and foster youth development through competitive engagement.
