A Year of Impact: Celebrating Sheikh Abubakar Issa Authentic Salaty Saiful Quadiriyah

It has been a year of impactful and positive contributions to humanity, particularly to orphans and the less privileged in the Malete community, as Sheikh Abubakar Issa Authentic Salaty Saiful Quadiriyah marks the first anniversary of establishing his Arabic school and mosque.

The anniversary celebration was filled with memorable activities that recalled the glorious day the new mosque edifice was constructed. Distinguished scholars graced the occasion, making it a truly remarkable event.

Professor Amusa AbdulRaheem of Kwara State University kickstarted the week-long event alongside other notable "Dakatirans." Sheikh Suleiman Danborn Mukada Agba also honored the gathering, and my good friend, Dr. Mahmood Musa Danjuma of the University of Ilorin, was one of the guest speakers. The grand finale was officiated by none other than the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bashir (OON), who brought the event to a successful close.

Sheikh Salaty Authentic’s initiatives in Da’wah have been a great source of inspiration to upcoming generations. His style, which aligns with the Gen-Z philosophy of the jet age, maximizes the use of social media platforms to spread knowledge and inspire positive change.

He has never been found wanting in his lectures, even when addressing trending and controversial topics such as the Shoabah discourse and sectarian differences. Sheikh Authentic believes in unity, embracing Markaziyah and Adabbiyah without division. His Da’wah follows the methodology of his forebears and ancestors—“Hidmah” for the Ulamah—and his humility reflects the noble path of his mentor and father, Amir Jaizy.

It is no surprise to see the fortunes and respect Sheikh Authentic now enjoys among his peers. He served Amir Jaizy diligently with all his energy and heart, and the rewards of such meritorious service are evident today and will continue into eternity. One striking instance was his journey to the Benin Republic to support Ramadan Tafsir for his teacher. According to his podcast with Dr. Alikali, he recounted the challenges he faced on that trip—so severe that the lecture was initially canceled because he had not yet arrived. Despite the obstacles, he persevered and fulfilled his commitment, a testament to his unwavering dedication.

As Saiful Quadiriyah marks this first anniversary of his Arabic school, I encourage him to remain focused on his mission of providing for orphans and the less privileged. This is a cardinal objective of his foundation. Collaboration with partners is essential, as he cannot bear this herculean task alone—free services naturally attract many beneficiaries.

Saiful Quadiriyah’s humility is another powerful trait that draws followers to him. I personally witnessed this during the wedding of Alhaji Tajudeen Eleku’s children at Whitefield Hotel. I was in the entourage of the then Minister of Sports, Hon. John Owan Enoh, who attended the wedding. Saiful Quadiriyah was present at the hotel, praying for the couple. I greeted him with a simple gesture, and his response was warm, as though we had known each other for years. Unfortunately, I could not exchange a handshake due to the crowd, but his humility left a lasting impression.

As the euphoria of this first anniversary continues, I pray that Allah’s mercy will never depart from Sheikh Authentic’s family. May he live long to fulfill his dreams of amplifying the legacy of the Salaty family to the world.

Hearty congratulations, Sheikh Abubakar Issa Authentic Salaty!

With love from Ayodeji Ismail
