ALPSPN Unveils 2026 Activities, Sets New Security Agenda for Kwara

The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Kwara State Chapter, has unveiled its comprehensive programme of activities for 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and public engagement in the state.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Samuel Yusuf Bola, disclosed that the association will kick off its yearly activities with a sports engagement designed to promote unity among members and create awareness about the role of licensed private security practitioners.

Dr. Yusuf, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Urban Security Outfit, explained that the opening activity will feature a road walk exercise. According to him, members of the association are expected to converge at the Kwara State Stadium Complex before embarking on a sensitization walk across major streets within Ilorin metropolis to educate the public on the operations of licensed private security outfits.

He further revealed that the second quarter of the year will feature a Security Summit where stakeholders will deliberate on critical issues affecting private security operations and emerging security challenges.

The Chairman added that activities scheduled for the last quarter of the year will focus on public outreach programmes, including visits to orphanages and motherless babies’ homes, as part of the association’s corporate social responsibility to the community.

Dr. Yusuf emphasized that the association remains open to collaboration with government and other stakeholders, particularly in operational areas aimed at reducing crime and sustaining peace in Kwara State. He also appealed to the government for support, especially in the provision of operational vehicles to enhance security effectiveness.

He warned members of the public to be wary of unlicensed individuals posing as private security practitioners, stressing that ALPSPN remains the recognized body regulating private security practice in the state.

While commending the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its efforts in ensuring the security of lives and property, Dr. Yusuf urged residents to engage only registered and professional private security practitioners to avoid falling victim to quack operators.

He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to maintain peace, safety, and order across Kwara State.
