Sheikh Kawu Isalekoto Calls for Increased Worship as Ramadan Nears Ends

Muslims have been urged to intensify acts of worship as the holy month of Ramadan enters its final ten days.

An Ilorin-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Musa Kawu Isalekoto, gave the advice during his lecture at the Radio Kwara Tafsir on Wednesday.

Sheikh Kawu Isalekoto encouraged Muslims to observe the five daily prayers in congregation, give charity, and show love and kindness to their parents in order to attract the mercy of Allah.

He explained that seeking forgiveness during the sacred period of Ramadan provides Muslims with the opportunity to become spiritually renewed before Allah.

The cleric also urged well-meaning individuals to support the less privileged in society as a way of helping to reduce poverty.

Sheikh Kawu Isalekoto further advised Muslims to sustain the good deeds performed during Ramadan even after the holy month, noting that maintaining such acts reflects the true lessons and benefits of Ramadan.

Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kwara State Council, Mallam Lanre Ahmed Abdullateef, called on Muslims to heed the advice of the lecturer by engaging in acts that reflect the teachings and gains of Ramadan.
