Kwara Falcon Plays First International Competition, Hopeful on State Govt Commitment

  As Kwara Falcons attempt to take part in its first ever international competition, Club Chairman, Aliyu Jubril says the club is optimistic of getting the needed support from the state government in time for the Basketball Africa League. Kwara Falcons will participate at the Tournoi Championship in Abidjan between February 27th to March 1st 2023, before proceeding to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) between 11th to 24th March, 2023. Speaking from the club's training camp in Abidjan, Aliyu affirmed that the club has received unwavering support from the Kwara State Sport Commission and the Nigeria Basketball Federation in areas needed to collaborate. Kwara United unveils Kabiru Dogo as Technical Adviser on a three year deal

  Kwara United has officially unveiled Coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as the Technical Adviser of the club. The unveiling ceremony which was held at the secretariat of the team in Ilorin on Tuesday was done in the full glare of the media, management and stakeholders of the club. Speaking at the brief event, the General Manager of the club, Bashir Badawiy said that the unveiling was done in keeping up the standard of the club as a reputable brand even as he noted that the appointment of the Coach was made a few weeks ago. "This unveiling is like a ritual for us. Coach Kabiru Dogo is one of our own and we must give him the respect" said the GM as he expressed belief in the new gaffer to deliver for the club. Badawiy, who revealed that the Coach was handed a 3-year contract added that the management will try all its best to support him in order to succeed.   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has deployed some of its officers to each of the country's 36 states to monitor the elections on Saturday. This was disclosed in a statement released via the agency’s Twitter handle on Wednesday. The agency released reporting hotlines in all states, urging citizens to report any instances of vote buying or selling. NNL To Hold Draw For The 2022/2023 Season

  The draw for the Nigeria National League, NNL, ahead of the new season scheduled to kick off Friday 3rd March, 2023 has been fixed for Wednesday 22,February 2023. The draw which will be virtual will hold at the secretariat of the Most Important league in the country,Wuse zone 7, Olusegun Obasanjo way, Abuja in the morning. Forty three (43) teams, 19 and 24 drawn from the Northern  and Southern conferences of the league  are expected to join via zoom for the draw which will establish how the teams will play.  The fixtures and formats of the draw will further be made know to the  clubs . However, NNL management has placed a caveat that ONLY clubs that  have duly complied with the club licensing registration formalities will be legible to be drawn in the fixtures.  'Deji Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC have appointed one of its former players, Abubakar Salas Yusuf , aka Salas as the Camp Commandant. The Club's Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Ilorin. He said the team's former right full back, who also played for Kwara United FC of Ilorin, will be sent to National Institute For Sports (NIS) for a coaching course. Chief Chukwuemeka explained that Salas will also be providing leadership guidance for the young players at the club. IMC Suspends 3SC Official in viral Urinating Photo, fines Club

Davidson Owumi, the Head of Operations of the IMC in a Summary Jurisdiction notice sent to 3SC charged the club for failing to control the conduct of their official and further admonished the club management to take steps to curb an occurrence of such conduct in the future. Dogo begins Kwara United journey with home draw against Remo Stars

 Deji Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo's first match with Kwara United Football Club ends in a goalless draw, as Remo Stars held the Ilorin-based team in the Matchday Eight of the Nigeria Premier Football League decided at the Lekan Salami Stadium this evening.  Kwara United started the game on a promising note, getting two shots, one on target and the other off target within six minutes, and followed up with series of menacing moves into the vital area of the opponents, but couldn't put the ball into the net. ' Deji Former Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, believes that Sunday Dare, current Minister of Sports' decision to scrap the League Management Company Limited, LMC, and replacing it with what appears to be an ad-hoc Interim Management Committee, IMC, is taking the Nigerian elite soccer league several years back. He made this observation at his GRA residence in Ilorin on Sunday. Ex Sports Minister and Chairman of the defunct National Sports Commission,  Mallam Bolaji Abdullah has reaffirmed his determination to consolidate on the gains of his sports development from the grassroots through Omoluabi foundation. Bolaji Abdullah who is the People's Democratic party Senatorial Candidate for Kwara Central, stated this while receiving the new leadership of Kwara SWAN under the chairmanship of Ayodeji Ismail at his GRA residence in Ilorin over the weekend.
