NPFL: NRA's Kosoko Sikiru Triggers Fans' Emotions With Poor Officiating in Akure
Nigeria Football witnessed yet another abysmal officiating in Kwara United's 1-1 home draw with Plateau United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 16 clash at the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday. Issa Gata opened the scoring for the Harmony Boys in the 22nd minute while Mohammed Umar equalised for the visitors in the 57th minutes. Perhaps one would say that the result could have been different had Centre Referee Kososko Sikiru from Lagos State had officiated according to the ethics and rules of the game. However, he displayed a total act of mischief and unprofessional way of handling of the game as some of his decisions proved he was on an assignment to ensure that the home team doesn't get the win. Some of his decisions almost triggered the emotions of the Akure fans.
